Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative I at Swedish Hospital in Chicago, IL. This full-time role supports front desk operations, greets patients, registers them in Admitting, Outpatient Registration and ED, and verifies demographics and insurance information.

You will collect payments, explain financial responsibilities and assist with access to care, while collaborating with nursing, registration, and billing teams to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; college coursework is preferred.
• Six months of hospital or clinic registration/admitting or related experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately in Admitting, Outpatient Registration and ED.
• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility; obtain referrals when needed.
• Explain consent forms and collect payments; assist with financial arrangements.
• Direct patients and visitors to appropriate departments and maintain professional service.
