Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years in Patient Access or related healthcare field.
• At least one (1) year of supervisory or management experience.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, insurance requirements, privacy standards, and facility policies.
• Understanding of governmental and private insurance guidelines.
• Strong clinical knowledge and ability to conduct chart reviews with physicians and staff.
• Experience using EHR systems, practice management software, and patient data management tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct a team of patient access representatives with training and guidance.
• Manage patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, eligibility, pre-authorization, and cost estimates.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, privacy standards, and facility policies.
• Continuously improve patient access processes, workflows, and technologies.
• Implement quality metrics to measure performance, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, administrators, and finance staff to optimize outcomes.
• Provide exceptional customer service and empathetic communication with patients and families.
• Provide accurate reports to management and regulatory agencies on access statistics and issues.
• Complete charge reconciliation, denials review related to authorizations, eligibility, and registrations.
• Verify authorizations for scheduled services and establish registration staff goals.
