Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED, required.
• Associate's degree, preferred.
• Experience: 1-3 years related work experience.
• Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and MS Office.
• Call center and/or telephone customer service experience preferred.
• Strong typing skills: 40+ wpm.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Bilingual written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiar with EHR software.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for visits and explain the registration process.
• Process co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances due; safeguard cash and receipts.
• Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and adjust coverage.
• Obtain signatures on consent forms, financial forms and other documents; scan and file records.
• Counsel patients regarding non-covered services and ABNs; obtain signatures.
• Monitor waiting area to ensure smooth registration flow and inform patients of potential delays.
• Respond to patient concerns and safety issues; follow appropriate procedures to contain risk.
• Maintain confidentiality and secure patient information.
• Initiate scheduling by prioritizing sources and accessing queues.
• Capture and verify required patient information for scheduling and pre-registration.

Skills

Bilingual communication
