Abilene Sports Medicine and Orthopedics is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the first touchpoint for patients. You will collect, verify, and document demographic and insurance information, ensuring accurate data entry and smooth scheduling in coordination with healthcare providers.

Qualifications

• Certification in Patient Access (e.g., CHAA) preferred but not required.
• Previous healthcare experience in patient registration, insurance verification, or customer service preferred.
• Experience with EHR and scheduling software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify personal, financial, and insurance information for accuracy.
• Input demographic and insurance details into the EHR system.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility before appointments.
• Obtain prior authorization for procedures as required by insurers.
• Schedule patient appointments based on physician availability.
• Explain co-pays, deductibles, and insurance benefits to patients.
