Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and families. You will ensure accurate demographic, insurance, and payment information while supporting the care team to streamline patient processing and improve satisfaction.

Responsibilities include registering patients, scheduling appointments, assisting with MyChart, and maintaining smooth EPIC workflow and communication across departments.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive PHI with privacy and discretion.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health record systems (e.g., EPIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Checking patients in and out for visits and scheduling appointments.
• Answering patient inquiries via phone and in person.
• Assist patients with MyChart enrollment and usage.
• Enter and validate patient demographics, insurance and financial information.
• Coordinate with care teams to communicate important details.
• Assist with insurance contact as needed and collect copays and balances.
• Process paperwork and form completion; manage EPIC workqueues and inbasket messages.
• Schedule referrals and follow-up visits; scan documents into EPIC.
