Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Patient Access Specialist in Gig Harbor, WA to support patient intake, registration, and scheduling. This on-site role focuses on accurate data entry, insurance verification, and financial clearance while delivering excellent customer service.

You will greet patients, verify eligibility, collect co-pays, and coordinate with providers and insurance companies using Epic or Cerner EMR systems. A 1–2 year healthcare registration or scheduling background is required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in healthcare registration, scheduling, or customer service is required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Insurance verification and/or prior authorization experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
• Register patients and maintain demographic information
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorizations
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
• Explain financial responsibilities and payment options to patients
• Obtain required consent and privacy documentation
• Coordinate with providers, nurses, and insurance companies to support patient care
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
• Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner
