RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Patient Representative for the Barnabas Health Medical Group. The role is housed in Patient Access Services and involves handling patient calls and scheduling duties on a day shift. This full-time, hourly position offers a comprehensive benefits package in New Jersey.

The incumbent will use strong communication and terminology skills to support patients, families, and referring physicians while maintaining a high standard of service across all interactions.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• Three years of clerical experience with at least two years in admitting/patient intake (preferred).
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy with Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inbound patient calls for RWJBarnabas Health offices.
• Schedule first-time and follow-up appointments.
• Match patients to the provider best suited to their needs based on clinical indicators.
• Handle general questions with empathy and professionalism.
