Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System seeks a Patient Access/Registration professional to ensure outstanding customer service while scheduling, collecting co-pays, and verifying insurance information. You will pre-register patients, confirm demographics, and work with payors to secure approvals as needed.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a clinical environment. Hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Two years hospital registration experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Data entry into scheduling systems for multiple areas.
• Identify available times and schedule procedures with insurance verification.
• Perform medical necessity checks and ABN notifications as applicable.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits with payors and offices.
• Obtain and document accurate patient demographics and insurance data.
• Explain financial responsibilities and refer to financial counseling when needed.
• Coordinate with physician offices and departments to support patient flow.
