• Capture and document patient demographics, insurance information, and payment data into the EHR system.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits by contacting patients, physician offices, and payers.
• Review documentation for accuracy to minimize errors and delays.
• Assess and collect financial liabilities; educate patients on billing; refer for financial counseling as needed.
• Scan documents into the document management system and attach relevant forms.
• Update EHR with pre-certification information for scheduled accounts; complete ABN forms when necessary.
• Explain consents and procedures to patients; prepare packets for upcoming procedures.
• Follow SOPs during system downtimes and coordinate with other departments to ensure patient satisfaction.
