BMCHS is hiring a Patient Access Rep in Boston for full-time coverage in the Patient Access Services department. The role emphasizes accurate registration, demographic data collection, and insurance verification to support smooth patient billing and admissions processes.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, 0-2 years in registration or 3+ years in customer service, and strong communication and multitasking abilities in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of registration-related experience or 3+ years in customer service.
• Sound judgment, critical thinking and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Strong organization, follow-through and data accuracy.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a busy environment.
• Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn MS Outlook and Epic.

Responsibilities

• Delivers outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
• Maintains data integrity for patient demographics, insurance and admissions.
• Verifies patient insurance using multiple methods.
• Applies payer guidelines to ensure reimbursement.
• Performs full registration and records required patient data.
• Works in a fast-paced, interruptions-filled environment with the team.
• Assists with department coverage and holiday scheduling.
• Interacts with patients to answer questions about registration and admissions.
