Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a patient access representative to greet patients, collect demographics, verify insurance eligibility, obtain required signatures, and provide regulatory paperwork. You will use Meditech to ensure accurate registrations and re-verify patient information as needed.

This role supports bed placement, admissions, transfers and discharges, and works with Scheduling, Pre-certification, Medical Records, Billing and Care Management to keep patient flow smooth.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of health care registration/check-in experience required.
• Insurance knowledge preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills; ability to multi-task.
• High school graduate; some college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to patients and internal/external clients.
• Obtain accurate patient information and enter into Meditech system.
• Verify insurance information and eligibility.
• Assist with bed placement and admission transfers/discharges.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow department procedures.
