Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of healthcare insurance and benefit programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes and completes registrations in order of patients’ acuity level.
• Interviews patient or family to gather demographic, insurance and visit information and verifies data.
• Launches insurance verification to verify eligibility and benefits; communicates out-of-pocket liability.
• Collects payments for current and previous balances per cash posting policies.
• Identifies self-pay patients and refers to financial counseling as needed.
• Maintains knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payer requirements and insurance plans.
