Job summary

Hialeah Hospital is seeking a dedicated patient access specialist to process registrations, verify demographics, and collect financial data across departments. You will greet patients and visitors, obtain signatures, and ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of information.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma, 1-2 years of relevant experience, familiarity with Microsoft Office and Meditech, and be bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Medical terminology and/or insurance knowledge helpful.
• Bilingual; Spanish-speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process patient registrations by verifying, updating and collecting demographic and financial data for all applicable departments.
• Greet and direct patients and visitors, obtain signatures and distribute forms.
• Maintain knowledge of CMS guidelines including HIPAA and EMTALA, and use of tools and software.
• Work with hospital departments to ensure accurate data and smooth patient flow.
• Provide excellent customer service and clear communication with patients.
