Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a Patient Services Representative I to register patients, verify insurance and explain financial responsibility across Winston-Salem, Clemmons, Davie and Bermuda Run clinics.

The role supports efficient patient flow, collects payments and refers eligible patients to financial counseling while maintaining HIPAA compliance and high accuracy in all required data entries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; experience in patient access, scheduling, registration or financial clearance preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA rules; updates on pre-certification requirements.
• Experience with ADT systems and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Greet patients arriving for appointments and manage workflow for efficient service.
• Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
• Complete registration for walk-in patients and explain estimated patient liability.
• Identify patients needing financial assistance and refer to Financial Counselor.
• Ensure accurate insurance benefits and collect balances or estimates due.
• Adhere to Financial Clearance policies and coordinate with care teams.
