Eskenazi Health is seeking a Registrar to serve as the first point of contact for patients, handling registration, eligibility checks, and coordination with financial counseling. You will ensure accurate data capture and smooth patient flow across clinics and hospital settings.

The role requires at least one year in health information management or related office work, with a high school diploma or GED. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for this value-driven team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience in business, office management or health information management.
  • High School Diploma or GED with post-secondary education courses or certification in business, computers and Office Management.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Complete outpatient registration program and pass the exam with a score of 80% or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients by validating demographic information and payer sources.
  • Collect prepayments and co-pays as defined by patient insurances.
  • Reconcile the cash drawer.
  • Direct patients to financial counselors when no payer is identified and/or patient has outstanding balance.
  • Establish accuracy of data in systems and verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Interact with clinical and non-clinical staff in a professional manner.
