Job summary

Eskenazi Health is seeking a Registrar to serve as the first contact for patients, ensuring accurate data entry and efficient flow in clinic/hospital settings. You will validate demographics, process insurance and payments, and route complex cases to financial counseling while maintaining a patient‑focused service standard.

The role requires solid customer service, familiarity with EHR systems, and the ability to work in a busy, multi‑age environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience in business, office management or health information management.
• High School Diploma or GED with post-secondary courses or certification.
• Pass outpatient registration program with score of 80% or higher.
• Knowledge of insurance and third-party payers, patient billings and accounts processes.
• Ability to use remote terminals and standard office equipment.
• Demonstrates strong communication, accuracy, and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients by validating demographic information and payer sources.
• Collects prepayment and co-pays; reconciles cash drawer as applicable.
• Matches and retrieves patient data in the EHR; ensures data accuracy.
• Directs patients to financial counseling when needed.
• Interacts professionally with clinical and non-clinical staff.
• Adapts service to age-specific patient populations.
