Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Registration/Patient Access professional to initiate the Revenue Cycle by collecting demographic and financial information and providing outstanding customer service. You will help ensure clean claims and accurate patient contacts across multiple access points.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, collecting balances, explaining billing procedures, and supporting clinical staff with administrative duties in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills; basic computer skills.
• One to two years of experience in a medical office setting.
• Minimum qualification: High School or GED.

Responsibilities

• Accurately identifies patient in EMR system.
• Obtains and enters accurate patient demographic and financial information through a standard work process.
• Provides exceptional customer service during encounters with patients, families, visitors and OhioHealth staff.
• Performs registration functions in any of the Patient Access areas.
• Verifies insurance eligibility using online systems or by phone.
• Collects patient out-of-pocket expenses and past balances to meet goals.
• Answers questions regarding insurance residuals and self-pay accounts.
