Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System in Winder, GA is seeking a patient access professional to greet patients, register them, verify demographics, and determine insurance eligibility. Under the supervision of the Patient Access Supervisor, you will collect co-pays, explain billing processes, and perform complete registration while ensuring accuracy and HIPAA compliance.

This full-time role requires strong communication, accuracy, ability to work across hospital departments, and mastery of the EHR

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be mobile and able to push patients in a wheelchair between locations within the hospital campus.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology, data entry, admitting, or billing is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Capture and document patient demographics, subscriber and insurance information in the EHR.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits with patients and providers.
• Educate patients on billing processes and collect financial liabilities when applicable.
• Scan and file documents into the Document Management System.
• Update pre-certification information for scheduled and non-scheduled accounts.
