Job summary

Bronson Healthcare in Kalamazoo is seeking a Part-time Patient Representative for Quickcare Plus to support patient access needs, greet and register patients, collect demographics and insurance information, and verify details for scheduling and billing.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, customer service experience, basic typing and computer skills, and familiarity with HIPAA and revenue cycle concepts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Medical Terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding strongly preferred.
• Basic typing at 45 WPM, basic ten key, and computer skills within a Windows environment.
• Experience with multiple computer applications/operating systems, and office machines.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements, insurance payer regulations and requirements, and patient rights.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle components and their impact on the process.
• Knowledge of the impact of accurate registration on patient satisfaction.
• Analytical skills to solve simple to semi complex problems.
• Organization, prioritization and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Flexibility to facilitate change.
• Ability to work under deadlines with high volumes.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and registering patients and collecting demographics and insurance information.
• Verifying information and scheduling appointments.
• Providing patients with financial information and price estimates.
• Assisting with payments and entering data into systems.
• Understanding billing/coding requirements and applying them per industry standards.
• Resolving patient financial issues and negotiating payment arrangements.
• Working in a team environment while delivering exceptional customer service.
