Job summary

R1 RCM, Inc. in Destin, FL is seeking a part-time PRN Patient Registration Customer Service Representative to be the first contact for patients. You will ensure fast, compassionate, and accurate access to care, working across multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently.

You’ll be cross-trained in multiple departments, with on-call shifts and an 8–12 hour range. The role offers training and opportunities to grow within R1.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Pass background check, drug test, and vaccination requirements.
• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification, or front desk is a plus (but not required).
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist patients and families with the check-in process across multiple computer systems.
• Answer phones and collect accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Support timely access to care by minimizing delays in registration and answering questions with confidence and compassion.
• Build trust with patients during moments of illness, anxiety, or confusion.
• Navigate insurance plans, enter demographics, collect co-pays, and provide cost estimates when applicable.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
