Job summary

R1 RCM, Inc. is seeking a PRN- part-time Customer Service Representative - Patient Registration in Jacksonville, FL. You will be the first contact for patients, helping with check-in, gathering information, and explaining costs while coordinating with clinical teams.

The role emphasizes empathy, accuracy, and the ability to work across multiple systems. Training is provided, with on-call shifts and weekend coverage as part of a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience with patient access, medical registration, insurance verification, or front desk is a plus (but not required).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass background check, drug test, and meet vaccination requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist patients and families with check-in across multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently.
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Support timely access to care by minimizing delays in registration and answer questions with confidence, clarity, and compassion.
• Build trust with patients during moments when they may be ill, anxious, confused, or overwhelmed.
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details, enter demographics and medical data, collect co-pays and provide cost estimates when applicable.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
