Qualifications

• Experience in a physician’s office, hospital, or urgent care setting.
• Proficiency with computers and Windows-based software.
• Experience using electronic medical record systems.
• Strong typing, data-entry, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy medical office.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming telephone calls and direct callers to the appropriate person or department.
• Check patients in and assist with the registration process.
• Schedule patient appointments and prepare daily clinic activities.
• Collect patient payments and provide appropriate documentation.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Pull, organize, and file patient records.
• Enter and update patient information accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Perform additional clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
• Protect the confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
