Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is hiring a Part-time Patient Access Account Specialist to perform outpatient and inpatient registration and insurance verification functions. You will collect payments, provide information to patients and families, and assist with payer pre-certifications and referrals.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of customer service experience.
• Patient Access experience preferred.
• Two plus years hospital registration or insurance verification experience.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for outpatient and/or inpatient services and verify insurance.
• Collect patient financial liability payments and ensure they meet financial requirements.
• Provide general information to hospital users, patients, families, and physician offices.
• Process payments and support payer pre-certifications and referrals as needed.
