Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and families. You will verify demographic, insurance and payment information, answer questions, schedule appointments, and help patients enroll in MyChart, ensuring accurate registration and a smooth start to care.

You will support the care team, handle EPIC workflows, schedule referrals, collect copays and balances, and help keep appointments on schedule, while

Responsibilities

• Check patients in and out for medical visits
• Answer the phone to address patient inquiries and scheduling
• Assist patients with enrolling and utilizing MyChart
• Enter, update and validate patient demographic, insurance & financial information for accurate registration
• Communicate information to other medical care team members
• May contact insurance companies regarding coverage, preapprovals, billing and other issues
• Collect patient payments for visit copays, coinsurance, deductibles and prior balances
• Assist with completion of various paperwork and forms
• Process EPIC workqueues, worklists and inbasket messages
• Schedule referrals and follow-up visits
• Accurately scan documents into EPIC
