Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management seeks a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and families. You will verify demographic, insurance and payment information, support scheduling and MyChart use, and coordinate with care teams to ensure smooth registrations.

In this role you will handle payments, assist with forms, and process EPIC work queues while contributing to patient satisfaction and timely appointments across the system.

Responsibilities

• Check patients in and out for medical visits.
• Answer phones to address patient inquiries and schedule appointments.
• Assist patients with enrolling in and using MyChart.
• Enter, update and verify patient demographic, insurance and financial data to ensure accurate registration.
• Communicate information to the care team and assist with scheduling referrals.
• Contact insurance companies regarding coverage, preauthorizations or billing when needed.
• Collect and process payments for copays, coinsurance, deductibles and prior balances.
• Assist with completing various forms and paperwork.
• Operate EPIC workqueues, inbasket messages and related tasks.
• Support new hire orientation and training, and may be cross-trained as needed.
• May schedule surgical procedures and ensure patient flow stays on track.
