Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside seeks a Registrar for the Adolescent Health Center. The role focuses on patient registration, insurance verification, updating demographics, and coordinating care at the front desk during FT days, Monday through Friday 10a-6p with rotating Saturdays.

You will greet patients, collect referrals, verify insurance, enter data into the EMR, schedule appointments, and support a smooth patient flow while adhering to policies and departmental procedures.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• 6 - 9 months healthcare experience preferred.
• Certified Application Counselor designation as allowed by NYS DOH if primary duties relate to financial assistance (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct patients, visitors, and staff.
• Answer telephones promptly and courteously; direct calls or take messages.
• Collect and distribute patient referral information.
• Escort visitors and patients to appropriate areas and provide information.
• Enter patient demographics, financial information and emergency contacts into the computer system.
• Verify demographics and insurance coverage; generate patient charts per policy.
• Process charts for discharge; ensure forms are complete.
• File and retrieve charts; maintain recall files.
• Enter data into required computerized systems; maintain logs.
• Schedule clinic appointments and assist with recalls.
• Other duties as assigned.
