Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Post-secondary education helpful.
• One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
• Six months' customer service experience desired.
• May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics.
• Create, scan, route documents or electronic forms and obtain signatures as needed.
• Inform patients about documents and capture signatures.
• Establish and assign financial responsibility and assist with arrangements per policy.
• Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on balances.
• Coordinate registration work queue to address errors or denied claims.
• Coordinate scheduling with nursing team and providers; arrange referrals and pre-authorization.
• Arrange interpreter services; check patients in/out; operate multi-line phone.
• Handle recall, waitlists, and serve as switchboard operator as needed.
• Coordinate Telemedicine appointments and reminder calls; assist with chart preparation and document organization.
