Sanford Health seeks a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact, delivering exceptional service in person or by phone. Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying demographics, handling registrations, collecting payments, and coordinating scheduling with the nursing team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office.
  • Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential.
  • Six months' customer service experience desired.
  • BLS may be required for certain locations and/or settings.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients & verify demographics during registration.
  • Create, scan & route documents or electronic forms; obtain signatures.
  • Inform patients about documents and capture signatures on paperwork.
  • Establishes and assigns financial responsibility; assist with arrangements.
  • Collects co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances.
  • Coordinate scheduling with nursing team & providers; obtain referrals & pre-authorizations.
