Job summary

Optum seeks an on-site Patient Registration Clerk at River Falls Area Hospital (1629 E Division St, River Falls, WI). The role entails greeting patients, collecting demographics and insurance details, completing registration paperwork, and guiding patients to appointments or procedures.

The position requires 6+ months of customer service, basic Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to work per diem across 1st-3rd shifts.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience in an office/hospital setting.
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work on a Per Diem basis, within 1st shift, 2nd shift, or 3rd shift.
• Ability to work standard daytime hours, Monday-Friday for the first 3 weeks after hire in alignment with the training schedule.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patient in person.
• Collects demographic and insurance information.
• Checks in or interviews patient to complete appropriate paperwork.
• Directs patient to their appointment or procedure.
• May assist in scheduling add-on appointments.
• Verifies eligibility and benefits information for payers and interprets results.
• Obtains signatures from patients as needed.
• Collects co-pay or deductibles and respond to questions regarding financial assistance programs available.
• Uses resources, tools, and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues.
• Assists patient in completion of request for information forms and submits to appropriate department.
• May gather medical record information from all departments for collection.
