Job summary

Optum is seeking a Part Time Patient Access Registration Representative in Wisconsin to support patient reception, scheduling, insurance verification, and payment processing. The role includes 4 weeks of paid training and a rotating 20-hour weekly schedule at 717 West Moreland Blvd, Waukesha.

Primary duties include greeting patients, collecting demographic and financial information, and coordinating with hospital departments to ensure accurate patient encounters.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 6 months of customer service experience in an office or healthcare setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is expected.
• Ability to work 20 hours per week in a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist visitors and patients in person or via phone/video with strong customer service.
• Register patients early, enter/update demographics and financial information.
• Obtain and file applications and forms with signatures on file.
• Provide financial information and collect patient liabilities, balancing cash daily.
• Collaborate with Financial Counseling and Scheduling to complete encounters.
• Provide wayfinding and hospital information; assist with admissions and bed tracking.
• Meet audit accuracy standards and handle worklists and errors promptly.
