Job summary

Major Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Services representative to serve as the first point of contact for patient registration and admission. The role includes identifying uninsured patients and coordinating with MedAssist as needed, handling calls, paging, and order entry, and providing courteous customer service across registration sites.

The position may float to multiple registration sites within the health system, supporting operational efficiency and patient flow.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service, communication and teamwork skills; strong problem solving and interpersonal abilities; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; able to work under time pressure with patient contact.

Responsibilities

• Represent Major Hospital as the initial contact for Patient Access Services, including registration/admission.
• Identify uninsured patients and communicate with MedAssist when appropriate.
• Answer and transfer incoming calls; internal and external paging; order entry; and customer service support in registration functions.
• May float to various registration sites within the health system.
