Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative in Norfolk, VA, to handle patient registration, verify identities, review schedules, and ensure correct service placement.

The role includes scanning documents, entering demographics and insurance data, explaining regulatory forms, collecting co-pays, and guiding patients to the right service area; you may also assist with scheduling and pre-admission.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Customer Service and/or Data Entry experience.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in lieu of two years of experience.
• Proficiency in Keyboarding.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify identity, selecting the correct patient record.
• Review schedules and physician orders to register for the appropriate service.
• Scan insurance cards, IDs, Living Wills, and POAs.
• Explain and collect co-pays, deposits, and outstanding balances.
• Greet patients and families, provide information, and guide them to the right service area.
