Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Part-time Patient Access Representative to register patients in the Emergency Department and other registration areas. The role requires identifying patients, collecting demographic and insurance details, and admitting patients, with opportunities for advancement to roles such as Patient Access Rep II/III, Team Leader, and Team Coordinator.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Customer Service and/or Data Entry experience required.
• HS Diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree can substitute for two years of experience.
• Proficiency in keyboarding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and collect demographic and insurance information; admit patients in ED or registration areas.
• Work with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure accurate patient registration.
• Demonstrate teamwork and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced hospital environment.
