Job summary

Advocate Health Care Burlington is seeking a Front End Staff member to greet patients, collect demographic and insurance information, and process registrations. You will support insurance discussions, collect payments, and coordinate with Financial Advocates as needed.

The role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high-volume tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and accurate data entry.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with basic computer systems and typing.
• Ability to handle sensitive information per policies (HIPAA).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create the initial electronic health record used by the care team.
• Prevent duplicate records to avoid safety and billing issues.
• Identify patients correctly to ensure safe care delivery.
• Register patients, collect demographics, guarantor and insurance info, and collect co-pays.
• Explain financial responsibilities and refer to Financial Advocates as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality under HIPAA and related regulations.
• Assist with scheduling and patient communications as needed.
• Provide information on test prep, arrival times, and check-in procedures.
• Guide patients through the patient portal/app and offer exceptional service.
• Greet patients, answer calls, and support the flow of information across staff.
• Communicate issues and process-improvement ideas to management.
