Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a POS Services Clerk to perform financial clearance, registration, and clerical duties for patient intake. You will greet patients, collect demographic/billing information, and verify insurance to ensure smooth service delivery.

The role requires strong data entry, communication, and teamwork, with opportunities to earn shift and weekend differentials as part of our comprehensive rewards package. 32 hours per week, on-site position in Maine.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in registration, billing, scheduling, or customer service preferred.
• Working knowledge of insurance and authorizations a plus.
• Strong data entry, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and caregivers, explain the intake process, answer questions.
• Accurately register patients and capture required demographic, billing, and clinical information.
• Verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and check medical necessity.
• Collect copays, deductibles, and coinsurance or refer to financial counseling.
• Coordinate with unit staff to support timely placement and reduce delays.
• Meet productivity, quality, and privacy standards.
