Job summary

MaineGeneral Health in Maine is seeking a Patient Services Representative to support practice operations, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and act as a liaison between patients and providers. The position offers Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. hours, with a range of benefits and the possibility to grow within a non-profit system.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and support skills.
• Ability to be flexible and shift priorities quickly.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, answers phones, and provides clerical support to clinical departments.
• Schedules appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
• Verifies insurance benefits and may obtain precertification/authorization as necessary.
• Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, and/or refers to financial counselors for follow-up.
• Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered into the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
