Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to manage inpatient and outpatient access within the Patient Access Department. The role includes patient intake, registration, eligibility screening, and coordination of benefits to support timely reimbursement.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience with EPIC workflows, and the ability to navigate payer requirements while delivering compassionate, patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with patient access processes and insurance verification.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors and provides courteous service.
• Implements scheduling, pre-registration, pre-certification, and insurance verification policies.
• Verifies patient demographics and eligibility for services.
• Performs inpatient/outpatient registration and financial clearance tasks.
