Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to manage inpatient and outpatient access functions across assigned areas. You will interview patients, verify demographics, and coordinate insurance verification and pre-certification under supervision, while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong communication, basic medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to work rotating shifts and some holidays. EPIC Cadence/Prelude training provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; required.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends.
• Strong written and verbal communication; customer-service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality interviews ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance.
• Handle facility scheduling, bed planning, pre-registration and registration.
• Perform insurance verification, pre-certification and point-of-service cash collection.
• Obtain patient consents/attestations and ensure accurate demographics.
