Job summary

Washington Hospital Healthcare System in Fremont, CA is seeking a Registration Clerk to manage patient registration across ED, Admitting, Outpatient Lab, Imaging Center and Pre-procedure areas. Qualifications

• Completion of college-level medical terminology course is preferred.
• Experience with admission/registration processes and record keeping is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with hospital staff to maximize patient data registration and refer follow-up to Financial Counselor.
• Identify insurance data in HIS to ensure accurate billing information.
• Gather government statistical information via screening forms and HIS data fields.
• Collect deposits and/or co-pays at or before registration.
• Obtain signatures on required forms.
• Interact professionally with staff and the public.
• Schedule patient appointments and enter data accurately in the system.
• Use critical thinking to make decisions with minimal supervision.

• May be assigned additional duties as required.
