Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Patient Access representative at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital to deliver excellent customer service during check-in and discharge. You will collect patient information, verify insurance, explain policies, and answer questions in a fast-paced setting.

The role is on-site, Mon-Fri, 7a-3:30p, with a competitive hourly pay range and comprehensive benefits. Prior admissions/registration or insurance experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years admitting, scheduling, registration, or insurance verification experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner.
• Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information, enter into systems.
• Schedule appointments and confirm patient information.
• Explain insurance and billing policies to patients.
• Process payments and provide receipts.
• Obtain pre-authorization for procedures as needed.
• Handle patient questions and escalate complex issues to senior staff or manager.
