Job summary

Ridgeview is seeking a patient access specialist for comprehensive pre-registration and registration across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and same-day surgery services at multiple sites in Minnesota.

You will efficiently collect and verify patient information, determine guarantor, verify insurance, and assist with disclosures and consent. Strong customer service and accuracy are essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years healthcare experience.
• Familiar with medical terminology.
• Strong customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently registers patients in person or by phone and verifies information for accurate billing.
• Assigns guarantor for each patient.
• Ensures patient disclosures and consent to treat are provided and signed.
• Verifies insurance eligibility using real-time eligibility and records correct plan and billing address.
• Completes Medicare MSQ forms as appropriate.
• Collects payments and provides financial counseling and estimates when needed.
• Reconciles end-of-day cashier duties and supports payment processing.
• Works with internal staff and third-party payers to obtain required information.
• Directs internal and external customers to proper resources and answers questions.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and upholds privacy standards.
• Meets quality and productivity standards and performs other duties as assigned.
