Formación

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience working in healthcare related field, preferably finance.
• Adequate keyboard skills (40 words per minute typing rate).
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including ability to discuss medical issues.
• Negotiation skills including assertiveness and being proactive.
• Ability to read, write and speak intelligible English; Ability to communicate with patients, family, peers and medical personnel; Basic math skills and appropriate phone etiquette.
• Requires emotional stability and resilience; Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrates foresight; Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.

Responsabilidades

• Greet all customers in a professional and friendly manner and guide them to the appropriate area.
• Register patients quickly to maintain flow, typically not more than 15 minutes per visit.
• Collect updated demographics and accurately code information for patients including contact numbers, addresses, insurance and physician details.
• Explain insurance processing, deductibles, co-insurance, and co-pays; assist with cash collection goals.
• Obtain patient signatures using e-signatures and provide Medicare notices; complete MSP on Medicare patients.
• Obtain copy of photo ID and insurance card; scan documents to accounts with clear images.
• Notify insurance for verification and initiate authorizations when needed.
• Explain Lake Charles Memorial Health System Financial Assistance program and assist applications.
• Assist patient flow and provide directions to patients when needed.
