Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking a part-time Registration Specialist to handle patient check-in, insurance verification, and demographic data collection. You will work nights (11pm–7am) on a 20-hour weekly schedule, with weekend and holiday rotations as needed.

You will collect co-pays, provide patient guidance on coverage, and maintain strict confidentiality per HIPAA. Proactive communication with staff and patients ensures accurate records and smooth workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Demonstrate HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience with insurance verification/eligibility tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create the initial electronic health record serving as the patient record foundation.
• Check in and register patients, collect demographics and insurance information.
• Discuss and collect co-pays and out-of-pocket responsibilities.
• Explain insurance coverage and discuss financial obligations with patients.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
• Coordinate with physicians and staff to resolve patient care issues.
