Job summary

FMOL Health’s Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa seeks a Patient Access Representative for the Angels Clinic Float Pool. You will register patients in Epic, verify insurance, collect payments, and ensure a best-in-class patient experience.

This PRN role supports clinic operations, coordinates with clinicians, and helps patients access government resources when needed. Strong customer service and basic finance skills required; familiarity with Epic is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience - 6 months relevant experience (customer service, billing, registration, finance, or accounting) in medical office, hospital setting, or insurance office.
• Education - High School or equivalent
• Special Skills - Professional demeanor, excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task, critical thinking, demonstrated computer literacy, ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in Epic during the introductory period.

Responsibilities

• Register patients in Epic and manage patient flow to ensure a best-in-class patient experience.
• Review accounts for financial responsibility and arrange payment plans as needed.
• Coordinate referrals with physicians and other staff to meet payor requirements in a timely manner.
• Provide patient access to information (e.g., MyChart) and update records as needed.
• Handle cash per policies and meet site collection goals.
• Support clinic and health system initiatives to improve day-to-day operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
