Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage the patient intake process in our clinic. You will interact with patients in person and by phone, handling check-in/out, data collection and payments, and scheduling.

You will verify insurance and process referrals and authorizations, ensuring a high-quality, seamless intake experience. The role requires strong customer service skills, critical thinking, and knowledge of medical terminology and billing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
• Preferred 2 years of customer service experience.
• Healthcare or call center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers and/or checks patients in/out.
• Conducts routine patient check-in and verifies demographics, insurance and other information.
• Performs insurance eligibility verifications.
• Scans and attaches patient-related materials into the EMR.
• Records non-clinical charges from various sources.
• Handles and reconciles payments.
