Job summary

Luminis Health seeks a Patient Access Associate to be the first contact for patients at our hospital. You will help with registration, collect demographic and financial information, verify insurance, and scan documents into the EMR. Your role ensures a smooth entry into care and accurate records.

Qualifications

• 0–11 months of direct Patient Access or healthcare registration experience.
• Must obtain CPAS certification within 8 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients courteously and verify demographics in Master Patient Index to ensure accurate records.
• Process patient registrations and insurance verification with real-time eligibility and documentation in EMR.
• Explain required documents, obtain signatures when possible, and handle unable-to-sign situations per policy.
• Identify self-pay patients and route to Medicaid eligibility and financial assistance resources.
• Schedule appointments, pre-authorizations, and communicate financial responsibilities to patients.
