Job summary

Miami Neuroscience Institute Baptist Health South Florida is seeking a Customer Service professional to greet patients, collect demographic and payer information, and register patients for services. You will obtain authorizations, referrals, and collect payments as required.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, maintaining accurate notes in the patient system, scheduling physician or hospital services, confirming appointments, and communicating with departments to meet patient needs

Qualifications

• 1-3 years customer service experience.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Fluent in Spanish preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families in person or on the telephone.
• Obtains demographic, third party payer information, financial information, medical information, and identification to schedule or register the patient for services.
• Obtains authorization, referrals, and collects payments as required.
• Verifies third party payer information and seeks appropriate authorization and/or referral for services.
• Documents all activity as appropriate in the collection notes in the computer system.
• Schedules physician or hospital services as appropriate.
• Confirms appointments two days prior to visits.
