Job summary

Baptist Health South Florida is seeking a Patient Access professional to obtain and verify patient demographics and insurance information, including authorizations. The role includes scheduling appointments and working in a fast-paced call-center setting to meet quality metrics.

The incumbent will coordinate patient flow, understand insurance requirements, and support revenue cycle processes while delivering compassionate service to patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
• Detail oriented, organized, team player with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify necessary demographic and insurance information, including authorizations/referrals/notifications.
• Schedule patients' appointments/procedures (initial, follow-up, add-on) as applicable.
• Work in a call center type environment and meet individual quality metrics (productivity, accuracy, QA).
• Coordinate patient flow, timely processing, and address questions or concerns.
• Maintain knowledge of Baptist Health South Florida pricing and revenue cycle operations.
