Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented clinic receptionist to join our team. You will check in patients, answer calls, enter demographics and insurance data, and support revenue-cycle tasks under supervision.

A strong customer-service background and basic medical terminology knowledge are essential. We offer a full-time AM shift, advantages like education assistance, paid time off, and wellness programs, and a mission-driven environment serving a diverse patient

Qualifications

One year of customer service experience required.
Business Office education or similar coursework desired.
Must attend all required coursework assigned by management.
Must possess basic knowledge of medical terminology and advanced knowledge of PC applications, software and database management.
Must be able to perform math and bookkeeping skills.
Must possess exceptional telephone and customer service skills and
Must be knowledgeable of English grammar and punctuation.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Check in scheduled and add-on patients to the clinic.
Answer telephone and route calls, and enter demographic, insurance and charge data into the system.
Check patients out of the clinic and perform patient follow-up as necessary.
May perform other clerical duties related to collection, deposit and recording of clinic revenue.
Provide assistance and respond to patient needs within the waiting room.
Demonstrate outstanding customer service to patients, visitors, physicians and staff.
