Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking a Patient Services Specialist I in Texas City to deliver excellent patient care and service. You will coordinate clerical and medical activities, assist with patient registration, scheduling, and access to UTMB services for new and returning patients.

You will support billing education, financial counseling, and pre-registration for third-party coverage, while maintaining confidentiality in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in PC, Excel, Word and database management.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of patient care and patient problems.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level customer service in all interactions.
• Coordinate clerical and medical activities of a healthcare team.
• Manage patient registration activities and scheduling.
• Educate patients on billing processes and financial responsibilities.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and proper documentation.
